Effects of anti-CD4/CD8 antibodies in the recovery of salivary glands in experimental hyperglycemic condition

چکیده
Background Diabetes affects the metabolism, promoting damage in different tissues, including salivary organs. Current treatments, are ineffective to recovery of these tissues. In this aspect, the immunotherapy has been tested, but still remains inefficient as an agent for the control of damage caused by diabetes. In this way, more tests are necessary to conclude the real effects of this therapy.

The effects of anti-Fas ribozyme on T lymphocyte apoptosis in mice model with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Objective(s): In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of anti-Fas ribozyme on the apoptosis of T lymphocytes (T cells) in mice model with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Materials and Methods: Male 6-week-old C57BL/6 mice were used to establish the COPD model by exposure to cigarette smoke. The COPD mice were sacrificed for spleen dissection and T cell isolation. T cell...
متن کاملQuantification of Partial Volume Effects in Salivary Glands SPECT Images after Radiation Therapy of Head and Neck Tumors
Introduction: Radical radiation therapy of head and neck cancers may injure the salivary glands and reduce their function. Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) images maybe used to evaluate function post-therapy. However, accurate quantification is hindered by the partial volume effects (PVEs). The present study involved the introduction of a PVEs quantif...
متن کاملNumerical status of CD4+CD25+FoxP3+ and CD8+CD28- regulatory T cells in multiple sclerosis
Objective(s): Regulatory T cells, including CD4+CD25+Fox3+ and CD8+CD28- cells play an important role in regulating the balance between immunity and tolerance. Since multiple sclerosis is an inflammatory autoimmune disease, regulatory T cells are considered to be involved in its pathogenesis. In this study, we investigated the circulatory numbers of the two mentioned types of regulatory T cells...
Background & Aim: The immune system is quite capable to combat tumors and many immunological parameters including cytokines such as IL-12 & IFN-γ play major roles in this regard. IL-12 is also the major cytokine responsible for the differentiation of TH1 cells, which are potent producers of IFN-γ, IFN-γ in turn has a powerful enhancing effect on the ability of phagocytes to produce IL-12 as...

OBJECTIVE To examine whether the B cell tropic γ-herpesvirus Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is aberrantly expressed in its latent and lytic forms within ectopic lymphoid structures (ELS) in the salivary glands of patients with Sjögren's syndrome (SS), and to investigate the relationship between EBV dysregulation, B cell activation, in situ differentiation of autoreactive plasma cells, disease-specifi...
